The word gratitude is derived from the Latin word gratia, which means grace, graciousness, or gratefulness while the original Greek word (eucharistia) is the source of Thanksgiving meaning “to show favor for what is good; to be thankful or full of thanks and praise.”

I love that a day is set aside for expressing gratitude, through the tradition of Thanksgiving. As the name implies, it is a time to recognize the goodness in our lives. In this year of “firsts”; compromise, sacrifice, uncertainty and change, there is still so much to be grateful for. Health, home, family, and community to name a few.

In the attached article, The Power of Gratitude in the Workplace, the expression of gratitude is summed up nicely. “Gratitude is especially powerful because it is one of the few practices where you see an immediate shift in mindset and emotional state.”

We have started the practice of gratitude in our Turner Group Team Huddles. It is meaningful to witness what is important to our fellow team members and to be reminded of the many blessings in our own lives. Here is a nice guide to Cultivating Gratitude In The Workplace.

We are grateful for you; our customers, our friends, our team members, our families, our competitors, suppliers, and all that make up part of this crazy, wonderful industry and world. Thank you for sharing your lives with us.
