100 Years of the Hehl Family

On June 15, 2023, Arburg, Inc. celebrated “100 Years of the Hehl Family Company” at the Arburg North American headquarters in Connecticut.

The grand occasion was opened by Friedrich Kanz, retiring President and CEO OF Arburg, Inc. Friedrich welcomed nationwide customers, partners and other associates closely involved in Arburg’s success story.

Juliane Hehl, Managing Partner, Global Marketing and Business Development and Guido Frohnhaus, Managing Director, Technology, were the esteemed speakers followed by a great events program which was enthusiastically enjoyed by guests and employees alike.

Juliane Hehl told of how her grandparents Arthur and Maria Hehl courageously founded the company in 1923, and how her father Eugen and uncle Karl Hehl played a key role in shaping its success and making Arburg one of the world’s leading manufacturers of machines for plastics processing. She explained how Arburg had always trodden its own path, conducting business globally and acting locally, assuming responsibility for people and the environment, both then and now.  For the future it was emphasized the need for Arburg to change to stay true to itself while retaining the fundamental positive and character-forming features of a family company.

Friedrich Kanz set up the Arburg subsidiary in the USA and progressively transformed it into one of the company’s most important and biggest support bases worldwide – with great success. Juliane Hehl warmly acknowledged and expressed sincere appreciation for his contribution to building a highly successful and state-of-the-art organization. Friedrich received a standing ovation and applause from everyone present.

And to the future

Guido Frohnhaus introduced the incoming President and CEO, Martin Baumann.  He will assume office on June 1. Martin possesses in-depth knowledge of the plastics sector and several years of management, sales, and project experience for various companies in the United States. Our future is in good hands.

US Premiere

It would not be an Arburg event without an informative technology program, and this event was no exception. Presentations of Arburg’s digital products and services, as well as turnkey projects, were well received and followed by live machine demonstrations.

One of these demonstrations included the NEW ALLROUNDER 470 H setting the stage for new machine technology and celebrating “100 years of the Hehl family company”.

The anniversary machine is fascinating for customers looking for an energy-saving alternative to hydraulic machines, for example, as the high-quality hydraulic injection unit reduces acquisition costs and is extremely robust.
